Bling, bling, and more bling!

July 1, 2018

You all know how much fun I am having making theses cups! Check this out!! Can you say AMAZING?! I am in LOVE with this cup! There are so many possibilities with this craft!

I took the chance and covered the entire cup! This is my first ombré, with the help and advice from my daughter. I got a thumbs up for a good blend and fade! 😊 Recollections glitter from Michael’s is great and I added some chunky glitter I got from Amazon. The mama bear I got from Etsy and just fell in love!

You know you want one!

3D Rolled Flowers ~ Super Easy

May 22, 2016

Hi my crafty friends!!

The weather is kinda crazy this week. It was in the 90’s earlier this week, the past couple of days, it’s been cold and rainy. I don’t get nearly as much time to craft or scrapbook as I would like. Who has the time when you have 3 out of 4 children in sports? I am secretly happy TBall is over as of today.

I made it a point this past Mother’s Day to work on something super special for my mom. As Mother’s Day was approching I was getting down to the wire. I am a member on a few different groups on Facebook for my Silhouettte Cameo machine. These groups are so much fun! Such a great group of women (and men!) from all over the world sharing ideas, projects, tips, and support.

The past few weeks I’ve noticed a lot on the 3D rolled flowers and shadowboxes. I had the files for some time now (common’, how many files do you have but have not used yet?) I made one flower and it was downhill from there. I wanted something special for my mom for Mother’s Day and this was it! Shadowboxes were all over Pinterest and Facebook and I knew a shadowbox gift with the rolled flowers was the perfect gift!
Shadowbox Rolled Flowers

I picked up the shadow box from Michael’s, they had a great sale just before Mother’s Day. Their 8 1/2 x 11 Recollection paper is honestly the best paper I have found for the rolled flowers. It is not too thick and not too thin. If you need to know it is a 65lb paper. Velum works great too and Michael’s vellum rolled very easily. I think I like it better than the white.

I am debating on doing my first instructional video for the rolled flowers. Share your thoughts below if you are interested and would like to learn how to make these. They are super easy and honestly, very therapeutic.

Happy Sunday everyone! Feel free to share some love below! I’d love to hear from ya!

It’s a Labor of Crafting

September 8, 2015

I hope everyone enjoyed the long three-day Labor Day weekend, I know I did. I spent my weekend with my family, birthdays, BBQ’s, movies, (fighting a horrible tooth ache) and my favorite hobby – crafting! I love everything my Silhouette Cameo can do. This past week I have been able to customize my very own Starbucks mug! I LOVE how it came out, it was such a hit I have friends and family requesting one of their very own! Wouldn’t it be wonderful to just do this for a living!? One can dream, can’t she? 🙂

Here is the mug I made…

One thing to note, I am using outdoor permanent vinyl. This is way more durable than the vinyl you can get at your local craft store. This is the same vinyl you see on cars with team logos, etc. It is for the most part permanent, the coffee mugs are hand wash only. Every dishwasher is different and in my opinion not worth the chance of the vinyl lifting, not from the water but from the heat of the drying cycle.

We celebrated my sister’s birthday this weekend too. There are so many things you can do with vinyl. One of the latest ideas I’ve seen floating around my crafty sites and blogs is monograms. I LOVE these so much I made two, one for my other sister! They are so personal and make gifts! The Silhouette Online Store is full of monograms to choose from! I got the stands at Michaels, but the tiles can easily be drilled with holes and hung up instead.

That’s all for now. Until next time, do something creative.

Some of my Fav’s…

March 25, 2013

March is already over! April is just around the corner, can you believe it!? This last month has been busy, but when do I not have a month that is NOT busy, right? I had the opportunity to get quite a bit of crafting, scrapbooking and some jewelry done too! Two of my favorite’s to work with right now…Canvas & vinyl and photo jewelry…There is so much you can do and create. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did creating them.

While at Scrapbook Expo in Pleasanton, CA I revisited one of my favorite booths – Craft Fantastic! I love how crisp and clear photos just pop out of these glass bubbles.  I picked up this little cascading flower necklace and added the charms of my beautiful daughters…the possibilities are endless on what you can create.  Honestly, this picture does not do this justice!

My sweet friend at work, Melissa is having her first baby boy in the next few weeks. I’ve seen so many great canvas pieces on Pinterest lately, I knew this would be a great gift! Not to mention having all girls, I couldn’t wait to create something for a little boy.  I grabbed some 12×12 canvas at Michales, added three coats of acrylic paint. Next I added on layer of modge podge (best product ever!), let it dry for a few hours – overnight is bettery…then using my Silhouette I cut out the baby subway art.  The best part! I was able to modify the image and add the baby’s name for a more personal touch.

Thanks for stopping by…until next time!
